| The Day Today |
|
Described as "The
freshest and funniest comedy since Monty Python",
The Day Today is the television incarnation of "On
The Hour". Broadcast in 1994 it used similar
extreme story lines as its radio predecessor but the
use of television made them all the more real.
It also used many
of the same characters as in On the Hour and most importantly
Alan Partridge as a sports reporter. The show in general
is extremely funny but it is almost worth buying the
videos just for the Partridge bits. Steve Coogan also
plays several other characters throughout the shows
and good bits to look out for are the eye witness in
"Bomb Dogs" and the owner of "The Bureau".
If not only for Alan, if you like satirical comedy then these videos
are definately worth buying.
